  • Dean Engel

    I focus on helping clients with estate planning, money management, retirement plans as well as farm & business succession planning. Currently, I am Executive Vice President and Sr. Trust Officer for Maquoketa State Bank/Ohnward Financial Advisor Services. I am also a graduate of Cannon Trust School. I have been with the Ohnward organization for the past 25+ years and continue to be active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. I was born and raised on a grain and livestock family farm located east of Maquoketa. I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Education in 1985. After graduation from Iowa State University, I worked for three years as a Farm Consultant for the Iowa Farm Business Association assisting clients in Jackson & Clinton County with farm recordkeeping and farm income tax preparation. My wife Jenny and I are the parents of twin daughters Megan & Beth who graduated from Drake University's Pharmacy program. In our spare time we like to spend time with our family and go camping.

  • Sarah Fishwild I am 1st Vice President,401(k) Plan Specialist with Maquoketa State Bank/Ohnward Financial Advisor Services. I work to provide effective advice on plan options regarding retirement for individuals and develop a strong business relationship with individuals who need retirement planning advice. I can suggest new ideas for product and service development within a company, as well as research financial issues and recommend new retirement program options for our clients. I am also a graduate of Cannon Trust School. I have been with FAS since 1999.

    My husband Scott, works for John Deere and farms. My son, Cole and daughter, Hannah are active with farming and livestock. They participate in many 4-H and FFA related activities such as showing livestock at the fair.
  • Karen Morrow I am Vice President and Trust Officer for Maquoketa State Bank/Ohnward Financial Advisor Services (OFAS). I am involved with financial planning, client servicing and business development. I was formerly with VMF Capital and WB Capital Management and have over 20 years of experience in money management services. I earned my BS in 1985 and my MBA in 2009, both from the University of Iowa. I reside in Cedar Rapids where my community service work has included board leadership with Foundation 2. I am married to Martin (Marty) Morrow who is a Business Consultant in the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines area. My son, Joe Green, is a photographer in Cedar Rapids and owns Joseph Green Studios. I have three stepchildren who live in various parts of the United States. My hobbies include gardening, reading, cooking, and travelling.
  • Greg Bopes I am the Farm Manager and Assistant Trust Officer. I am a Maquoketa native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Soil and Crop Science. My professional experience has been in Retail Agronomy, most recently serving as Plant Manager and Crop Specialist at AgVantage FS in Maquoketa. I am also involved in numerous community activities including serving on the Maquoketa Fire Department and Rescue Squad. I am a Certified Crop Adviser with the 4R Nutrient Management Specialist designation and hold an Iowa Real Estate License. My wife Katie and I were married in 2012 and we have two beautiful girls. Agriculture plays a key role in both of our lives as Katie works for the Jackson County Extension Office as the County Youth Coordinator, which means summer is a busy time for our family with the fair. In our spare time, we are heavily involved in the Fire Department and love going to sporting events locally and nationally.
  • Patti Gerardy I am AVP & Trust Officer at Maquoketa State Bank/Ohnward Financial Advisor Services. I work with clients on Trust Accounts and Conservatorships. I have been in banking 30 plus years and with FAS since 2001. I graduated from Andrew Community School, and Sawyer Business School. I took paralegal classes at Marycrest/Teikyo Marycrest College. I have also attended Cannon Trust School. I am involved with Sunshine Early Learning and serve as Vice president on their board. I volunteer about sixty hours a year between serving on the board and with their various fundraising activities. My husband Vince and I were married in 1975 and are the parents to two daughters and one son. We are also grandparents to five active grandchildren whom I love to spend my free time with. My husband is self-employed in construction.
  • Laura Backer am AVP, Trust Operations & 401(k)/FAS Marketing Assistant with Maquoketa State Bank/Ohnward Financial Advisor Services. I am involved with the trust operations department’s daily activities and provide support to the Trust Administrators. My focus is on the maintenance of our trust software, data reconciliation on client accounts as well as oversight of various transactions to our client accounts; such as purchases and sales and other income received from investments. I assist our 401(k) Specialist with administrative responsibilities of our 401(k) plans. I also serve as FAS marketing assistant. I started with FAS in 2010. I earned my Associates degree from Scott Community College and have over twenty-three years of accounting and finance experience. My husband Kelly and I were married in 2009. My son Wesley attends college and my step-son Maxwell keeps us busy with school and sporting events. In my spare time, I spend time with my family and friends and love to travel. I also like to read and work on crafts. Kelly is a self-employed farmer.
  • Paige Somerville I am the Trust Operations Specialist and Farm Management Assistant. My job includes a variety of responsibilities including posting trades and income, reconciliation and balancing of cash and client accounts, and scanning client files. I also assist Greg Bopes with farm management recordkeeping and other special projects as they come up. I am the first face you will see when you visit our department. I attended Kirkwood Community College and received my Associates of Science Degree. I started with FAS in 2014. In my spare time, I am involved in Pony of the America’s Club. I assist in the event coordination for the National Congress & International Futurities. I volunteer over eighty hours of my time to the organization. I am married to my husband Ken since 1988. We have two grown daughters. We farm as a family and have a cow/calf operation. We are also active with showing and raising horses.
